Oddlygood Breaks World Record in Recycling
Oddlygood has officially earned a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title after collecting over 50 kilos of empty beverage cartons in just one hour. The record attempt took place at Mall of Scandinavia in Stockholm on November 1 and awarded Oddlygood the title “Most beverage cartons collected for recycling in one hour.” Together with the social media content creator Liam Kalevi, Oddlygood created an engaging and playful event where the audience actively participated in the collection.
When time was up and the scale showed the final result, it became clear that Oddlygood had succeeded in breaking the record, reaching the decisive 50-kilo mark in the very last second. Which led to a great cheers on-site together with the crew and the fans who helped. According to Nina Gillsvik, Global CMO at Oddlygood, the record demonstrates how powerful engagement around recycling can become when people unite around a shared goal:
“Wow, such incredible engagement around recycling, and so much joy! Breaking a world record together with our consumers is something truly special and very inspiring for our continued sustainability efforts.”
The record comes at a time when a decline in environmental awareness among young people has been highlighted by the Youth Barometer. Through initiatives like this, Oddlygood aims to show that sustainability can be both simple and fun.
Guinness World Records judge Joanne Brent also highlights the impressive achievement during the record attempt:
“I have never seen a result change at the exact same moment the time ran out. It’s a beautiful reminder that every action counts, and that small efforts together can make a difference on a world-record level.”
With this world record, Oddlygood reinforces its ambition to inspire positive change. The company continues to develop plant-based products where sustainability and taste are at the core, with the goal of making it easy for more people to choose a more responsible option in their everyday lives.
